PolySteel Piping is a
composite pipe consisting of an outer casing of spiral welded
or roll
formed high strength metal and an inner lining of high density poly
ethylene (HDPE) and joined with steel flanges and polyethylene stub
flanges.
The composite piping system is unique to PolySteel and the manufacturing
processes make it easy to customise a piping system which is only
constrained to the limits of
the steel and poly used to manufacture to a customer’s application and
design criteria.
Even though many design options can be built into a PolySteel piping
system the flexible manufacture process makes the customised piping system
highly cost
effective for the end user.
The following outlines why a PolySteel steel piping system can be
easily customised to suit individual application and still be cost
effective:
1. - The outer casing is spiral welded, or lockseam manufactured
from galvabond,
mild steel, stainless steel or aluminium to a maximum thickness of 5mm and
diameter of 1624mm. Schedule pipe is also available.
2. - The inner lining inserted into the tube or pipe in the
manufacturing process is custom built to suit the desired end application
use.
3. - The outer casing wall thickness is selected according to the
desired pressure rating and the HDPE grade is selected to suit the medium
transported through
the system.
4. - Fittings are manufactured to suit the pipe diameters and
design criteria and fabricated individually for the PolySteel piping
system.
5. - Jointing of piping is with the use of PolySteel Flanged Joints
manufactured
by Duraduct.
6. - Pipe length can be supplied in any length up to a maximum of
20 metres.
7. – Pipe can be manufactured to working pressures in excess of 40
Bar.
The design spectrum incorporated in the PolySteel piping system for fluid
transmission as a result of our highly flexible manufacturing process is
capable of meeting a wide range of custom pipeline design and application.
